1. Natural ventilation cooling tower
The less dense hot air flows out from the top of the cooling tower;

2, mechanical ventilation cooling tower
High-power fan forced air to exchange heat with circulating water;

Forced ventilation: Air is blown into the vent by a centrifugal fan; Advantages: Suitable for towers with high airflow resistance; centrifugal fan noise is relatively small.
Countercurrent cooling tower:
The cooling water is sprayed onto the packing and flows down into the cooling water tank.
The air is forcibly blown from the bottom, and the part of the cooling water is evaporated in contact with the water in the filler to lower the water temperature.
3. Induced ventilation cooling tower

Countercurrent induced draft cooling tower
Advantages: The degree of recirculation is lower than that of a forced draft cooling tower; the operating cost of the fan is less than that of a forced draft cooling tower.
Disadvantages: Mechanical transmission of fans and motors requires a waterproof design.

Cooling water enters from the top and flows through the packing layer; air enters from one or both sides, inducing the fan to flow air laterally through the packing layer.

Advantage:
Low water pump head;
Lower initial investment in pumps;
Lower annual operating energy consumption and costs;
When the flow changes greatly, it will not adversely affect the water distribution system.
Disadvantages:
The low pressure head will cause the nozzle to be easily blocked and the cooling water will not be well dispersed into a fine mist;
Direct exposure of the hot water tank to the air can cause algae to grow;
Large footprint.
Because of the pressurized water spray device in this type of cooling tower:
Advantage:
Longer heat exchange process and smaller cold amplitude by increasing the height of the tower;
Since the pressurized spray device can eject smaller water droplets, the heat exchange efficiency is higher.
Disadvantages:
The system pump head is increased;
Increased energy demand and increased operating costs;
The cooling water nozzle is not easy to maintain and clean;
A water distribution system and associated piping are required, so initial investment increases.
